I just read your feature on curlynikki and saw that you transitioned for a long time. I'm trying to do the same but dealing with the 2 textures and getting to blend is frustrating. Your hair texture is the closest to mine from what I've seen on the site. How did you do it?

p.s. LOVE your hair, you're my inspiration. it's good to have someone w/ hair just like mine rather than those loose curls i'll never be able to achieve

Hi Marcy!

During my transition I wore my hair in roller sets using small spiral rods. I would just wash, add setting lotion, roll, and sit under the dryer until my hair was dry. Occasionally I also did twist-outs with the ends on the same spiral rods I used for my roller sets. The twist-outs didn't last as long though. The most important thing for me was to not try to make my new growth straight. It's just too hard and potentially damaging because transitioning hair is so fragile. It was much easier to try to make the straight curly. It was also a good way for me to get used to what I looked like with big curly hair! Hope this helps!

You have straight up model hair! Saw you on curlynikki and it's nice to see some different textures. My hair is big and a little more curly than yours but I sometimes get a little aprehensive about "letting it out". The past few days though, I've been embracing my big frizzy curls and I'm getting so many compliments. I do feel a little more fierce when it's big and wild!
