New Feist

My love for Feist has been well-documented on this blog. See here and here (and there's a whole best-concert-of-my-life story that I sadly never shared here), so it's no surprise that I'm beyond super-exited that her new album, Metals, which is her first new album in 4 years (!!) comes out on October 4th.

It feels like I've been waiting forever for new Feist music, so the above 4 vignettes from listentofeist.com and the full-length single right below them make me feel blissfully happy and inspired.

Come on October! Hurry up and get here!

Under Construction

Just discovered this lovely song by Solange Knowles in a chisellecouture hair tutorial, and I was happy to find that Solange links to a free download of it on her blog! This particular song won't be on her upcoming album, but if it's any indication of what the songs that do make the cut sound like, it's gonna be a good one. Until then, you can be sure that Under Construction will be in heavy rotation at the House of Belle : ).

Thursday Night Loveliness

Went to my dear friend Cole's last night to watch this movie. While she ate her dinner of cheese and pâté, her super-cute kitty, Bucket, struck a few poses for me.

After the movie, we listened to a few songs from this album. This song made my day:

Strict Joy

Wowza! I can't believe this is my third post this weekend, but I just have to share this. The new album by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, Strict Joy, is now available for listening on NPR. I've had it on repeat all day. Official release date is this Tuesday, October 27!

I also highly recommend the Tiny Desk Concert they did a few months ago. It's amazing.
