Anatomy of a Necklace

During a particularly busy time, Stephanie and Mav of 3191 Miles Apart announced the release of Interwoven, an inspiring collaboration with Quince and Co. and I ordered the supplies for the Puffin necklace immediately (actually this is how I react to most things Stephanie and Mav do; if you're not already reading 3191, you should!). The project was beautifully simple and exactly what I needed to give my mind a rest from work. And, bonus, the necklace has been a wonderful addition to my fall wardrobe!

Low on Words

Photo taken with my new Mamiya 645 Super, the latest addition to my vintage camera collection (and the last for a while). Film: Fuji Pro 400 H

The rest of September is going to be a bear at work, so I'll be low on words for the rest of the month. I'll try to stop in here and there, but nothing as heavy as the last post for a while...

New York, Fall 2010--Part I

I spend so much time with words on my day job that I don't have much to say these days, but I do have photos....

Garance on Film!

Garance Dore has posted a lovely video that her assistant shot during a recent photo shoot. It's so wonderful. It makes me want to revisit my film studies roots. I think I have to have a flippin' Flip camera!!

Fleurie

The lovely smells that were coming from this restaurant as I walked by it on my way home one day last week stopped me dead in my tracks, and then I proceeded to sniff the air until I lost the scent.

Just stopping in

Just stopping in to say hello, lest you think I've run away from blogging again : )

I'm quite loving all of the spring blooms around town. They're pulling me through the last of the cold days.

It's Love

I just got my first roll of film shot with my vintage Pentax K1000 back. Weee!

The minute I spotted this camera on ebay, I knew I'd found my camera. There were lots of other Pentax cameras available, but this one was for me. I even loved the tiny little ding on the edge of the lens. I was ecstatic when I won it. Well, now that I've developed my first roll of film, I know for sure that this camera and I are going to be great friends : )

P.S. If on the off chance anyone is viewing this in a blog reader, sorry if it's appeared a million times. Was trying to get the sizing right.
